About Morningside College

Founded in 1888, Morningside College is a Methodist Church-affiliated liberal arts college. It aims to give students the educational foundation needed to become flexible, confident thinkers.

Morningside is a private college. 100% of undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid to help with the costs of their studies.

More than 65 majors and pre-professional programmes are on offer at Morningside. The college covers a broad range of academic and vocational fields, from accounting to Spanish. Graduate programmes in education and nursing are also available.

Performing arts have a high profile at the college. Alongside degree programmes in art, music and theatre, there are numerous ensembles for students to take part in or enjoy a performance by during their spare time. Musicians can join groups such as the opera theatre, chamber ensemble or jazz band, while actors can take to the stage in one of the regular productions in three different performance spaces.

Morningside has several study abroad programmes in different fields. Students can take part in an exchange with Methodist students in Northern Ireland or practice their Spanish in South America, spend a semester in Italy or join in intercultural activities in Japan.

The college is located in Sioux City, Iowa, a small city bordered by numerous national parks. The Morningside campus provides an inspiring setting, with much of the area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city itself has been recommended as a good place to start a career, with plenty of job opportunities.
