Online Accessibility Statement

Times Higher Education (THE) is committed to providing a user experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience. Some of the ways we do this include:

  • Constant testing to make sure our websites meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard
  • Regular audits of our online services with our users so we can ensure they work as well as they can

Please note that WCAG guidelines are an internationally recognised benchmark for the building of accessible web sites and if you wish to know more, further details can be found using this link

THE is committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our products so on our future roadmap. We also intend to make sure our websites work with commonly used assistive technologies including speech recognition tools, screen readers and screen magnifiers

Using the website

We aim to provide the most accessible experience possible for our visitors and have implemented the following accessibility features:

  • Links to pages and other websites will open in the same window unless otherwise stated within the link text or before a list of links. Some links may also open in a new layer, like a pop up that appears on top of the page you are currently viewing.
  • Links to downloadable documents and files will open in a new window to avoid conflicting with assistive technologies.

Browser Compatibility

The website has been cross-platform and cross-browser tested and is currently compatible with the latest versions of modern browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox & Apple Safari.

We do recommend that you use the most recent versions of operating system and browser that your device supports wherever possible.

Web Standards and Technologies

Our websites have been developed to conform to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards for HTML 5 (HyperText Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

The website is reliant upon HTML and CSS to render content that automatically adapts to different screen sizes without any loss in functionality or usability.

Additional technologies including JavaScript have also been utilised on the site and every effort has been made to ensure these technologies are as accessible as possible.
