About McKendree University
McKendree University was set up in 1828 as Illinois’s first institution of higher level education. It is recognised as a US College of Distinction.
McKendree offers a range of 48 undergraduate majors, including accounting, art, biology, biopsychology, business administration, chemistry, computer science and information systems, economics, human resource management, and Philosophy. The institution prides itself on small class sizes which aims to ensure maximum academic and personal care and attention, and a strong community feeling.
It has campuses based in Lebanon, Illinois, as well as Radcliff, Shepherdsville and Louisville in Kentucky. SThe vast majority of freshers live on campus, engaging with more than 60 student organisations.
Some famous alumni are novelist Michelle Embree, basketball coach Bill Cofield, musician Christine Brewer and US Senators James H. Wilson, Charles S. Deneen, Frank Hereford and Lawrence Yates Sherman.
