About Lewis-Clark State College

Lewis-Clark State college is an undergraduate institution based in the town of Lewiston, northern Idaho. Chartered in 1893, in 1955 the university was named for the famous explorers who would have passed through what is modern day Idaho on their travels.

Including minors and all stages of study programmes there are over 180 academic options for LCSC students to choose from. Academics are split into nine divisions, and especially highly regarded are Nursing & Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. Those taking an Addiction Studies minor can go on to meet the accreditation requirements of being a certified Drug/Alcohol Counsellor in the state of Idaho. Constructed in 2009, Sacajawea Hall is the dedicated nursing building of LCSC, and the 60,000 square foot facility incorporates three nursing labs and a radiography centre.

LCSC has an active Study Abroad programme for summer, semester or year long stays, with opportunities available on all five continents for students with a strong academic record. As part of the National Student Exchange, students have also spent time at colleges across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Varsity athletics teams at LCSC compete as the Warriors, in six men’s and six women’s sports. The men’s baseball teams is one of the best in the region, having won 18 national championships between 1984 and 2016. Many LCSC alumni have gone on to compete in Major League Baseball, including Cincinnati Reds pitcher Carlos Fisher and San Francisco Giants outfielder Marvin Bernard.

As well as its physical campus, LCSC offers over 370 online courses and 9 online degree programmes.
