About CUNY Lehman College
Set up in 1968, CUNY Lehman College is a senior liberal arts college in Bronx, New York, US. The college is part of The City University of New York (CUNY) - the largest urban public higher level institution in the US, famous for its ethically diverse student body.
The College offers over 50 undergraduate programmes and 46 graduate degrees alongside certificates and PhDs. They range from accounting and dance to Arabic, French, Greek, Hebrew, German languages and literature, health services, history, journalism, physics, psychology, speech pathology and theatre.
Lehman College is a cultural centre as well as a university. Its 37 acre campus near the Jerome Park Reservoir houses a Performing Arts Centre, which attracts around 200,000 people annually to see international events such as music concerts, ballet or children’s programmes at affordable ticket prices, and the Lehman College Art Gallery displaying contemporary art exhibitions.
Students can also research with the Lehman Speech and Hearing Center, work in the Multimedia Centre composed of a recording and broadcast studio, audio and video control rooms, a newsroom, 8 editing suites, a graphics and animation lab, and a music scoring classroom.
If you want to do sports, Lehman’s APEX centre hosts large athletic competitions and games as well as fitness facilities.
Lehman’s over 70,000 alumni work in business, healthcare, social services, law, medicine, teaching, and the arts. Over a half live in New York State.
Amongst Lehman College’s alumni are lawyer Letitia James, politicians Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Jose E. Serrano, actor Ron Perlman, professor of science Murray Sabrin, entrepreneur Richard Rakowski.
