About Wilmington College

Wilmington College is a private liberal arts institution founded by the Quaker Religious Society of Friends in 1870 in Wilmington, Ohio, US. The college still associates itself with the Quaker values it was founded on. 

Wilmington offers more than 25 academic majors and is the only private institution in the state offering a degree in agriculture, making use of the 1,000 acres of farmland around the college. 

Wilmington students participate in intercollegiate sports in NCAA Division III in baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, track and field and volleyball.

Beyond sports and studying, there are over 50 student clubs and organisations such as the archery, art, equestrian, faith in action, and film clubs.

Wilmington College alumni includes actors Meshach Taylor and Gary Sandy, astronomer Joseph Haines Moore, Guggenheim award winning poet Stanley Plumly, novelist Brian Fox and Quaker educator Thomas Raymond Kelly.
