University of Constantine 3 is the third university in Constantine province, around 200 miles from Algiers.
The university is based in El Khroub.
The university was founded in 2013 and is located in the "new city" of Ali Mendjeli, close to the international airport and linked to the city centre by tramway.
Its purpose-built 170 hectare site has 12 student residences with places for up to 2,000 students each, and plans for seven more.
The university is made up of faculties of medicine, architecture and urban planning, process engineering, political science, information and audio-visual science, arts and culture and the Institute of Urban Technology Management.
The university specialises in the arts since the opening of the Institute of Arts and Culture, intended eventually to accommodate 4,400 students. I
It is one of 11 universities, including three from Algeria, offering an Erasmus+ funded masters degree in managing environmental and climate change in the Mediterranean Basin. It also offers a joint masters in waste management and the circular economy with the University of Rostock, Germany.
