About University of Celaya
The University of Celaya was originally established in 1985 as Educación Superior de Celaya, A.C. When it opened in 1988 there were just 110 students. Today there are over 3,000 students studying at the university and more than 500 teachers.
The university is located in Celaya, a city in central Mexico.
The university offers a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. Undergraduate programmes include architecture, law, digital design, engineering, and psychology. Meanwhile graduates can study a master’s in architecture, business administration, commerce and international logistics, engineering in quality and productivity, and information technology management.
Students are given the opportunity to study abroad as part of the university’s academic exchange programme. There is a range of international opportunities available including a double international qualification, a semester abroad, a summer course or short-term courses, seminars and internships abroad. Students can choose from 20 countries across four continents to enrich their studies and develop their global perspective.
The Centre for Innovation in Engineering provides students with a specialist education in plastic injection technological innovation. Plastic production is becoming a growing industry in Mexico, with over 5.8 million tonnes of plastic produced annually. The centre teaches students about the composition of plastics and the manufacturing of moulds.
