About Texas A&M University-Kingsville
Texas A & M University-Kingsville opened its gates in 1925, which makes it the oldest continuously operating university in South Texas, US. Although it started off as a Teachers College, it soon broadened its academic focus to become a fully-fledged university.
The institution is situated in Kingsville, a city of 25,000 and the home of King Ranch - the largest ranch in Texas. For their weekends out, students can go to the Corpus Christi beaches 40 miles northeast or to Mexico, which is 120 miles south.
Texas A&M University Kingsville offers bachelor’s academic programmes in accounting, agribusiness, animal science, veterinary technology, architectural engineering, art, biomedical sciences, chemistry, computer science, criminal justice, English, finance, environmental engineering, geology, history, human sciences, kinesiology, marketing, mathematics, music, political sciences, ranch management, social work, Spanish, sociology and other subjects. The university has a strong focus on undergraduate studies, with most of the student body doing bachelor’s degrees.
Famous alumni include actress Eva Longoria, American football player Roberto Garza, attorney Irma Rangel, mayor of Laredo, South Texas, Pete Saenz, Elsa Alcala - judge and member of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, US Representative Ruben Hinojosa and musician Laura Canales.
