About Soochow University, Taiwan
Soochow University was founded in 1900 in Suzhou as China’s first western-style university. The university is now fully accredited and has two campuses across Taiwan’s capital city of Tapei; Waishuangshi campus and Downtown campus.
There are six colleges at the university: liberal arts and social sciences, foreign languages and cultures, science, law, business, and big data management. Across these schools, Soochow University offers 24 undergraduate degrees, 24 master’s degrees and six doctoral programmes.
The Waishuangshi Campus is located in the cultural centre of Tapei City, near the National Palace Museum, among green hills and has spectacular views. The Downtown Campus is located in the commercial centre of Tapei, making it easily accessible to professionals and students can utilize the rich resources offered in the locality. There is a shuttle bus service between the two campuses to make it easy for students to move between the two.
The university has over 150 student associations in public affairs, the arts, academia and sports. Each semester, the university also holds service-learning programmes, where students can develop their practical knowledge and skills.
