About Shiga University
Shiga University is a national university in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It was founded in 1874 and was chartered as a university in 1949.
The university has campuses in the cities of Ōtsu and Hikone.
Shiga University is made up of three faculties; the faculty of education on the Ōtsu Campus, the faculty of economics and the faculty of data science (the first in Japan) on the Hikone Campus. Each faculty teaches both undergraduate and graduate programmes.
The university offers career counselling and a career support system to help students with their future careers.
Shiga University has developed partnerships with 17 universities around the world to facilitate exchange programmes for research and education.
