About National United University
The National United University is based in Miaoli City, in Western Taiwan.
Established in 1972 as Lien Ho Industrial and Technological Junior College, it was the only higher education institution in the region. After a few name changes, in 2003 the institute was granted university status and renamed as the National United University.
Students can study a wide range of subjects within the following faculties: engineering science, electrical engineering and computer science, management, humanities and social science and Hakka studies.
The National United University has two campuses approximately 3km away from each other. There is a free shuttle bus for students to travel between the two bases ensuring safe and comfortable travel.
The university offers both male and female dormitories, which are fully equipped with monitoring systems, air-conditioners, reverse osmosis water dispensers and TVs. Newspapers and magazines are available in the social room, as well as broadband internet.
There are 59 clubs, which are divided into five attributes: artistic, recreational, service, physical, and autonomy. Clubs on offer to join include: Sihai Mountaineering Club, Chinese Opera Club and the The Mind World Folk Dance group.
There’s also a calendar of extracurricular activities scheduled throughout the year, which include concerts, folk dance performances and dances.
For those with an interest in sport, there are plenty of clubs to join, including basketball and volleyball, as well as sports facilities.
