About Nagoya University of Foreign Studies
Nagoya University of Foreign Studies (NUFS) is a private university located in the city of Nisshin in the Aichi Prefecture in the centre of Japan. It was established in 1988 and specialises in international studies and foreign languages. It is the only university in this area of Japan to offer such programmes.
The NUFS campus is situated in the hill country east of Nagoya City. This area is considered an academic area of Nissin City as it includes the campuses of several other universities. The campus has a dormitory for overseas exchange students,
There are four undergraduate schools including foreign studies, contemporary international studies, global governance and collaboration and world liberal arts. There are a range of different departments within these schools including the departments of British and American studies, global business, world liberal arts and international Japanese studies among others.
The graduate school of international studies offers programmes in English and English language education global communication and Japanese Language studies.
The university has agreements with 145 universities around the world including the University of Oregon, the University of Montreal, Bath Spa University, the University of Adelaide, the University of Waikato among many others.
