About Kırşehir Ahi Evran University
Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was founded in 2006. It can trace its roots back to 1961 and was built on the foundations of teaching training institutions in Kırşehir but has since take on a much wider remit as a state university.
It is named after Ahi Evran, a 12th century tanner who founded tradesmen’s organisations.
Students can study between faculties of education, arts and science, economic and administrative science, Islamic science, engineering and architecture, fine arts, health science, sports science, medicine, and agriculture. There are also seven vocational schools.
There are six campuses – the main one at Bagbasi with others at Cacabeg, Asik Pasa, Kaman, Mucur and Ciekdagi.
Dormitory places are provided for students in 11 buildings, six in Kirsehir, two in each of Kaman and Mucur and a girls-only residence in Ciekdagi.
