Kansai University dates back to 1886 when it was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886. In 1905 the institution was renamed as Private Kansai University, then in 1920 as Kansai University before, finally in 1922, being granted the official status of a university.
It was then that its main campus was moved to its current site in Suita, a suburb of Osaka in Japan. Today, the campus includes 50 buildings and sculpture gardens, fountains, museums, student dormitories and a mix of architectural styles.
Kansai University offers a variety of courses across many different areas: law, letters, economics, business and commerce, sociology, policy studies, foreign language studies, health and wellbeing, informatics, societal safety sciences, engineering science, environmental and urban engineering, and chemistry, materials, and bioengineering.
