About Johnson & Wales University-North Miami
Opened in 1992, Johnson & Wales University-North Miami (JWU North Miami) is located on a 29-acre campus between Fort Lauderdale and Miami in Florida and is one of four Johnson and Wales University campuses.
JWU North Miami students enjoy a close-knit community and with more than 30 student clubs and organisations on campus, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with.
Accommodation is available for around 1,000 students and there are seven different residential halls to choose from as well as a host of dining options.
The university also boasts more than 40 study abroad programs, allowing students to spend up to a year in countries including South Africa, Australia, France and Japan.
As a college that specialises in training students for culinary careers, the varied range of possible locations gives students the option of sampling and learning more about unique and interesting international cuisines.
As the largest food service educator in the world, the vast majority of students across the JWU campuses study culinary courses and the same is true at JWU North Miami. There are many other study options, including courses in fashion merchandising, event management, criminal justice and international business, among many others.
The university has produced some well-known names over the years. Award-winning chef and restaurateur Michelle Bernstein was an honours graduate in 1994 while model and entrepreneur Blac Chyna also graduated from the university in 2008.
