About The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin
Founded in 1918 as the Catholic University of Lublin, the John Paul II Catholic University is one of the oldest universities in Poland.
It started off offering courses in theology, canon law and moral sciences, law and socioeconomic sciences, and humanities.
The university now has seven faculties offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, including: theology, philosophy, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and health and law, canon law and administration.
Most of these degree programmes are taught in Polish, however through its Erasmus collaborations, the university also offers selected courses in English for foreign students. Students also have the opportunity to study languages including Chinese, Hebrew and Sanskrit.
The School of Polish Language and Culture is where students can learn the Polish language while gaining an insight to Polish culture. The school is recognised world-wide and language credits are transferable to most universities. The Catholic University has also joined the Artes Liberales Academy which enables students to study simultaneously at multiple universities, receiving a unique diploma.
Lublin’s Old Town is filled with cobbled streets, winding streets and colourful townhouses and has an extensive street art scene with murals all across the city painted by local and international artists.
