About Fujita Health University
Fujita Health University (FHU) is a private medical university that since its foundation has emphasized team medical education, aiming to nurture "excellent medical professionals" based on the philosophy of "our creativity for the people".
The University was established in September 1964, and has since evolved into a comprehensive medical university with three graduate schools: Medicine, Medical Sciences, Health Sciences, as well as three undergraduate schools in Medicine, Medical Sciences, and Health Sciences.
With excellent faculties, advanced facilities, and four teaching hospitals that provide practical education in a wide range of fields, the university fosters medical professionals in various professions, including doctors, medical technologists, clinical engineers, radiological technologists, nurses, public health nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.
The motto of the teaching hospital is “patient-centered medicine”. Students can learn a wide range of medical care and acquire the skills necessary to become medical professionals who are compassionate and sincere to patients.
FHU Hospital, equipped with the largest number of beds in a single hospital in Japan with 1,376 beds, is one of its key components. Teaching hospitals include Bantane Hospital in Aichi Prefecture, Okazaki Medical Center in Aichi Prefecture, and Nanakuri Memorial Hospital in Mie Prefecture and focus on cultivating highly skilled medical professionals.
In terms of research, FHU has established five research centers specializing in the fields of psychiatric and neurological pathologies, cancer genomics medicine, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases, and medical sciences. These centers actively conduct cutting-edge research that contribute to the advancement of medical science, including the development of new treatment methods and drug discovery.
Additionally, In October 2023, Fujita Academy opened FUJITA MEDICAL INNOVATION CENTER TOKYO, a next-generation medical and research base attached to the FHU Haneda Clinic. The center is located in HANEDA INNOVATION CITY, a complex adjacent to Haneda Airport. Using facts and findings from our university research, we aim to pioneer the norms of next-generation healthcare, while simultaneously showcasing the latest advancements in Japanese medical technology.
