About CUNY Hunter College
CUNY Hunter College is one of the best public universities and the largest college in the City University of New York (CUNY). Set up in 1970, it is one of the oldest public colleges in the US.
Hunter offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in over 170 areas of study. They are divided across its schools of Arts and Sciences, Education, Nursing, Social Work, Health Professions, Urban Public Health. Its academic programmes range from biomedical laboratory management, accounting and all liberal arts to adolescence education, nursing, nutrition, anthropology, urban affairs, speech language pathology, women’s studies and Arabic.
Since 2008, Hunter also grants PhD programmes.
More than a third of students at Hunter are the first generation in their family attending university.
There are around 150 student organisations and clubs alongside fraternities and sororities at Hunter. You can also join the college’s competitive varsity teams. On campus, Hunter houses The Kaye Playhouse, The Bertha and Karl Leubsdorf Gallery, the Frederick Loewe Theatre and Lang Recital Hall. In addition, as Hunter College is located in Manhattan, you will have access to all the buzzing cultural, social and professional opportunities of New York City.
