About Alma College
Located in the city of Alma, Michigan, Alma College is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1886.
Primarily based on a main campus within Alma itself, the university maintains a dedicated recreational centre for use by students between periods of study. The facilities at the centre include a gym, running track, climbing wall, swimming pool and various basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.
Aside from these extensive sports facilities, the university also maintains a large number of student societies covering a huge range of interests.
In addition to the facilities being offered on campus for students, students at the university are within driving distance of the city of Saginaw, a major centre of high-tech manufacturing, as well as the city of Mt Pleasant, a well-known student hotspot.
Whilst the university does maintain its tradition links with the Presbyterian Church, it takes steps to ensure that students of any faith, or no faith at all, are free to study at Alma College.
Academically, the university offers north of 50 majors for students, covering a wide range of academic field. Interestingly, the Alma College has a commitment to ensuring its students graduate within the 4 year degree course, and will cover the tuition for a 5th year term if a student is unable to meet this requirement.
In terms of alumni, the university can boast NFL Hall of Fame coach George Allen, and US Senator Gary Peters.
