About Abdullah Gül University
Abdullah Gül University is a state university supported by a philanthropic foundation. It was established in July 2010 and is located in the province of Kayseri, Turkey.
Students were first admitted in the 2013-2014 academic year.
It was named after the 11th president of the Turkish Republic Abdullah Gul, who was also a prominent citizen of Kayseri.
The university is based across two campuses - one in the city centre of Kayseri (Sumer Campus) and the Mimar Sinan Campus, which is still under development. The Sumer Campus offers student housing and has recently opened the new Steel Building.
The Mimar Sinan Campus is located 14km away from Kayseri city centre and will serve as the university's main campus on completion and there will be a shuttle service that will connect it to the city centre.
There are five schools at the university offering 14 graduate and undergraduate programmes. All of the courses taught at the university are taught in English.
The five schools include engineering, architecture, leadership and management, life and natural sciences, and languages.
There are also a few institutes and centres that are part of the university including the AGU Academy: The Center for Continuing Education, AGU Children's University: Center for Gifted Children and the Research and Development Office.
Kayseri is a bustling, industrial city and is located close to Cappadocia which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its unique rock formations and hot air balloon rides. Kayseri is located at the foot of Mount Ericyes, an extinct volcano.
