About Aalborg University
Aalborg University is a young, international research university that is focused on problem-based learning, interdisciplinary practices and innovation. The university was founded in 1974 and has departments in Aalborg, Esbjerg and Copenhagen. It is divided into four faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science, and Medicine. More than 21,000 students are enrolled at AAU, approximately 10 per cent of whom are international students. The university employs about 2,000 faculty and 1,400 administrative and technical staff. All the study programmes are based on the “PBL- Aalborg model”, which is problem-based and project-organised. The PBL-Aalborg Model has become both nationally and internationally recognised as an advanced and efficient learning model, and is a trademark of AAU. The university is a world leader in health technology, wireless communication, energy, computer science, innovation economics and comparative welfare studies.
