About Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan
Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan is a private university that was founded in 1993. It was given general accreditation by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The university is located in Amman, the capital and largest city of Jordan.
The university is organised into eight faculties: the faculty of science and information technology, faculty of pharmacy, faculty of nursing, faculty of arts, faculty of business, faculty of law, faculty of engineering and technology, and the faculty of architecture and design. Each faculty is subdivided into specialised departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
Although Arabic is the university’s official language of instruction, all faculties offer a number of courses taught in English.
Like all other universities in Jordan, Al-Zaytoonah uses the credit-hour system, which is based on the number of contact hours students receive. This system gives students the freedom to choose courses according to their study interests and goals.
The Foreign Relationships Office is responsible for overseeing the university’s international operations, agreements, grants and scholarships. It also organises the academic exchange and study abroad programmes that the university offers to its students. The office has currently developed partnerships with higher education institutions from 28 Arab and foreign countries.
