About Fujian Normal University
Fujian Normal University was founded in 1907. It can trace its origins back to teacher-training college, Fujian Superior Normal College. It is the province's oldest university.
It took its current name in 1972.
It is based on two campuses, Qishan and Cangshou, with a combined area of 263 hectares, in the city of Fuzhou. Facilities at Qishan include a 24-hour study area complete with sleeping cabins and a space management system.
There are 28 schools and colleges covering the disciplines of literature, history, philosophy, physics, engineering, pedagogy, economics, law, business management, agriculture and art.
Development has been supported since 2012 by the Ministry of Education and Fujian Provincial Government.
The first international students were enrolled in 1984. International students come from 20 different countries and are accommodated in two halls of residence.
