George Washington University School of Business

Founded in 1928, the George Washington University School of Business is the professional business school of George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Intended as a place where government and business would synthesise to bring about global prosperity, the school was known after the Second World War as the School of Government, Business, and International Affairs.

In 1966, it was split into the School of Government and Business Administration (SGBA) and a School of International Affairs. The SGBA was renamed the School of Business and Public Management in 1990, finally becoming the School of Business in 2004. The school is located in the "Foggy Bottom" area of Washington DC, a fashionable government and cultural district, close to the White House and also to the Federal Reserve, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund.

The university has eight departments: accountancy; decision sciences; finance; information systems and technology management; international business; management; marketing and strategic management and public policy.

The school offers undergraduate programmes in accountancy, business administration, finance and combined degree programmes. Its MBA range covers a global MBA (full-time); professional MBA (part-time); online MBA (part-time); online Healthcare MBA (part-time); world executive MBA and joint and dual MBA programmes.

Meanwhile, specialised master's courses are available in accountancy; business analytics; finance; government contracts; human resource management; information systems technology; project management; sport management and master of tourism administration. PhD studies are available in the areas of accounting; decision sciences; finance; international business; management and strategy and marketing.
