About Mount Saint Mary College
Mount Saint Mary College is a private institution in Newburgh, New York. It was opened in 1883 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic, a Catholic group.
50 undergraduate programmes leading to Bachelor’s of Arts or Sciences are on offer, along with three graduate programmes in education, business and nursing. The university collaborates with Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College to deliver several of its courses.
Academics at Mount saint Mary are organised into the Division of Arts and Letters, School of Business, Division of Education, Division of Mathematics and Information Technology, Division of Natural Sciences, School of Nursing, Division of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and the Division of Social Sciences.
Twenty-one intercollegiate varsity teams and twenty intramural activities are played at Mount Saint Mary. Student athletes are known as Knights, and compete at National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III.
Newburgh lies in the scenic Hudson River Valley, halfway between New York City and the state capital, Albany. While the many attractions and employment opportunities of the two big cities are just an hour away, the college’s immediate surroundings offer beautiful scenery, summer swimming and winter skiing and snowboarding. The 44-acre Mount Saint Mary Campus has modern facilities and residence halls alongside 19th century buildings.
