About Wakayama Medical University
Wakayama Medical University is a public university located in Wakayama, Japan. The university was established in 1945 and was chartered as a university in 1948.
The university has two campuses located in Kimiidera and Mikazura.
There are three schools within the university: the School of Medicine, the School of Health and Nursing Science, and the School of Pharmaceutical Science.
The Next Generation Research Centre on the Kimiidera campus conducts research in nursing, medicine and pharmaceutics. Current research projects include those in genomic medicine and drug discovery research.
The University Hospital provides healthcare to the Wakayama prefecture as well as providing training to the university's students.
