University of Health Sciences Lahore

The University of Health Sciences Lahore was established in 2002 as the first dedicated health university in the province. Its vision is to bring qualitative and quantitative revolution in medical education and research through evolution. Almost all the public and private medical and dental colleges of the Punjab province are affiliated with the university.

The university is focused on delivering high-quality instruction in basic medical sciences, revitalizing the neglected fields of nursing and allied health sciences, pioneering courses in medical education, human genetics and behavioural sciences, and fostering indigenous research activities.

The university is located in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan and the 26th largest in the world, with a population of over 13 million. It is situated in the northwest part of the country, with river Ravi running through it. Lahore is the capital of the Punjab province, and is one of the country’s most socially liberal, progressive and cosmopolitan cities.

Outside the classroom, students are encouraged to participate in the university’s various clubs, societies and extracurricular activities in order to enrich their studies. These include the art and photography society, drama and culture society, and sports club.

International collaboration is an important part of the university’s activity. It has developed a number of partnerships with higher education institutes around the world to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. These institutes include Duke University, University of Texas Houston, University of Liverpool, University of Nottingham, and the University of Glasgow.
