About University of Chichester
The University of Chichester can be traced back to 1839 making it one of the oldest universities on the south coast of the UK.
It is this mix of old and new that defines the university, with modern accommodation buildings and advanced facilities sharing a campus with 18th century manor houses and parks. The university currently operates 2 separate campuses, a main campus near the ancient cathedral city of Chichester and a second in Bognor Regis, very close to the English coast.
The university maintains some very modern academic and social areas on campus, such as advanced sports arenas and gyms, modern film-making and media facilities and modern accommodation. The main campus also has easy motorway routes to larger cities such as Portsmouth, Worthing and Brighton.
The smaller Bognor Regis campus is mainly used for academic study, and includes both business and learning resource centres. This campus is home to the university's Tech Park.
Student life at the University doesn’t just revolve around the facilities on campus, however. Accessible transport links into the city of Chichester allow students to easily make use of the nightlife and cultural centre of the city, as well as allowing easy access to the coast with its seaside towns and beaches.
The University of Chichester is relatively small, but despite this offers a good range of subjects for study, both undergraduate and postgraduate. Despite its extremely recent establishment, the university does have some famous alumni, such as writer Isobel Ashdown.
