About Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS)
Universiti Malaysia Sabah is a public university in Malaysia first established in 1994. The main campus of the university is located on a 999-acre site Sepanggar Bay in Kota Kinabalu in the Malaysian state of Sabah. It features both Mount Kinabalu and the South China Sea as its backdrop.
In total there are three campuses. The main campus in Teluk Sepanggar faces the South China Sea and is just 14km from Kota Kinabalu International Airport. A second campus, called UMS-Labuan International Campus, was established in 1999 in the Federal Territory of Labuan and is home to the school of informatics science and the School of International Business and Finance are located. Lastly there is a third campus in Sandakan which created in 2006 and offers courses in the school of sustainable agriculture.
In total there are 10 faculties including the faculties of engineering, science and natural resources, food science and nutrition, medicine and health sciences, sustainable agriculture, computing and informatics, humanities, arts and heritage, business, economics and accountancy, psychology and education and international finance.
Altogether there are 64 bachelors programmes on offer with over 1,200 academic staff, many who have won national and international awards and recognition for their research and innovation.
