About Universiti Malaysia Kelantan
The Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) was founded in 2006 as a component in the Ninth Malaysia Plan, which was to support the quality of development in Malaysia’s education sector.
As a result, it was confirmed that all of the curriculum at UMK should be based around entrepreneurship.
Specialised studies for short and moderate terms are grouped into three main fields of studies: entrepreneurship and business, heritage and agro-based industry and earth sciences and creative technology.
Within these areas of study, students can gain both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Students are given plenty of opportunity to gain practical skills throughout their course to help them to graduate career ready. Entrepreneurship is embedded in every subject in all programmes as students are required to register for four entrepreneurship modules.
Throughout their courses, bachelor degree students have 30 per cent industry involvement, while master degree students have 40 per cent.
UMK has three separate campuses in the state of Kelantan, which are: Pengkalan Chepa Campus, Bachok Campus and Jeli Campus. Across the campuses, there’s a wide range of facilities for students including accommodation, a library, cafeteria, computer and science laboratories and a shuttle bus from hostel to classes. In addition, there’s sports facilities.
Students are also actively encouraged to get involved in associations and social clubs.
