About Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth
The Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth (University of Saint Joseph of Beirut) is a private research university founded in the Catholic tradition located in the Lebanese capital city of Beirut.
The university was first established in 1875, as a centre of higher education. Over the past 140 years, the university has been able to expand its faculties greatly and offer new courses including medicine, French law and most recently business, all of which can be supported by dedicated facilities. In 2008, the university opened a new faculty of law in Dubai, UAE.
As a result of this growth, the university has a wide range of both academic and recreational facilities, including modern libraries, theatres, museums, gyms, a swimming pool and numerous areas dedicated to specific sports.
The university also provides modern and well-maintained student dorms, with proper accommodations made for international students. USJ offers courses taught in Arabic, French and English.
The city of Beirut has a huge amount to offer prospective students. As an ancient city and Lebanon’s capital, Beirut has an enormous amount of cultural and historical significance stretching back to thousands of years and is home to several universities providing a strong student culture.
Beirut is an extremely multi-cultural city that is accustomed to accepting people from all countries and cultures.
As a long-standing institution, the university has a number of famous alumni including seven Lebanese Presidents and a number of other politicians and journalists.
