About Sahand University of Technology
Sahand University of Technology (SUT) was established in 1989.
The university is located in Tabriz, a city in northwestern Iran.
There are three campuses at the university including Sahand Campus, which consists of administration, central management and educational and research units. There is also the Tabriz Campus, which is home to the Technology Incubation Centre, the open training centre, and electronic learning. The third campus is Varzeqan Campus, also known as Varzeqan Technical College, which offers engineering and technology education.
The university offers more than 20 undergraduate degree programmes in engineering and over 100 graduate degree programmes in engineering, science and technology. These programmes are organised into eight academic faculties: material science engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mining engineering, civil engineering, polymer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and sciences.
Throughout the year, SUT carries out research at its various research centres and institutes. These include the Research Centre for Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, the Research Centre for Environmental Engineering, and the Research Institute for Polymer Materials.
