About Mustansiriyah University
Mustansiriyah University is a university in Baghdad, Iraq.
The original university was first established in 1227 by the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mustansir and was one of the oldest universities in the world.
The modern Mustansiriyah University was established in 1963 by the Republic of Iraq Teacher's Union. It mainly provided evening courses in the beginning, but in 1964 the university was given the status of a semi-state university and was provided with some financial support.
