About Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education
Formerly known as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Excellence was established in 1984 by the Kalasalingam Anandam Ammal Charities. It is an institute deemed to be university located in Krishnankoil near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India.
Initially an engineering academy, this institution of higher education offers students a wide range of programmes from liberal arts to business management both. Students are also able to take courses from undergraduate to graduate courses. The university is primarily a research-oriented institution.
Located at the serene foothills of the Western Ghats, the university offers students many opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Along with assisting students in their studies and campus placements, special emphasis has been placed on facilitating the personal development of students.
A state-of-art research laboratory has been established for advanced research on material and life sciences, while an indoor auditorium and swimming pool have also been built. Sporting facilities include an athletic track, basketball courts, tennis courts and a football ground
The university spreads over 400 acres of greenery with wireless services.
It is the first institution of its kind in India to introduce a special bachelor in technology programme in engineering for students with speech and hearing impairments.
The institution has been re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2015. The National Institutional Ranking Framework, published by the Ministry of Human Resource India, has placed the institution among the top 65 engineering colleges in India.
Additionally, in the past few years, the university has launched a Semester Abroad Programme in collaboration with leading universities across the world.
