About Hungkuang University
Hungkuang University has a history that dates back to 1967 when Hungkuang Junior College of Nursing was established by Dr. Wang Yuh-ling. The college was granted full university status in February 2003 and was renamed Hungkuang University.
The university is located in Taichung, the second largest city in Taiwan.
Academically, the university is organised into four colleges: College of Nursing, College of Medical and Health Care, College of Human Science and Social Innovation, and the College of Intelligent Technology. Each college is divided into different departments, which offer a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level.
In response to the emergence of artificial intelligence and the rise of new industries, the university has developed augmented reality, virtual reality and e-sports programmes for students to study. It has also integrated artificial intelligence for cross-disciplinary applications in medical technology, built a drone industry base and a training facility for holistic, long-term care and physical therapy training.
The university’s commitment to global engagement is evident through its partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges throughout the academic year.
