About Federal University of Technology, Owerri
Federal University of Technology, Owerri was established in 1980. The university was initially established on the premises of the Old Government Technical College.
In 1982 it was moved to its own permanent premises.
There are 12 schools at the university including agriculture and agricultural technology, health technology, basic medical science, information and communication technology, biological science, management technology, engineering and engineering technology, physical science, electrical systems engineering technology, postgraduate studies, environmental science and general studies.
The university has both a physical library and an online library.
The Centre for Continuing Education offers a range of undergraduate weekend programmes for professionals.
