About Australian Catholic University

Australian Catholic University is a publicly funded university with several campuses around Australia. It was founded in 1991 following the merger of four Catholic institutions: Catholic College of Education Institute of Catholic Education, McAuley College and Signadou College of Education. It is open to students of all beliefs and backgrounds.

It has four faculties (education and arts, health sciences, law and business and theology and philosophy) which provide undergraduate, postgraduate and Phd programmes.

There is an annual sporting event for students, the ACU Games, and students also compete in the Australian University Games.

A community radio station run by both staff and students is broadcast across all of the campuses of the institution.

The university opened the Rome Centre in Italy in 2015 making it one of the few Australian universities with a presence in Europe.
