About Indian Institute of Management Udaipur

As part of the of the second wave of India’s prestigious network of Institutes of Management, the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur was the 13th to be launched when it opened in the former Polymer Science Building at Sukhadia University in Udaipur in 2011.

Within three years it had completed the first phase of its purpose-built 300-acre facility on the edge of the city, the first of the new wave to reach this stage. In 2018 it began a Green Campus drive with the planting of 1,000 saplings and 7,000 seeds.

Proclaiming the attractions of Udaipur, a former princely capital known as the "City of Lakes" and "Venice of the East" and as a "cradle of culture and history", the university reckons to "pulsate with the energy of a start-up while building on the prestigious accomplishments and traditions of the Indian Institue of Management network". It aims to "scale up over the next 20 years to build a management institute of international repute".

Already one of a handful of Indian schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, it was ranked 13th in management in the 2019 National Institutional Ranking Framework, top of the second wave of Indian Institutes of Management.

The MBA programme includes a mandatory rural immersion which involves working in five-strong teams in villages.

The minimum entry score on the Common Admission Test is 90th percentile or above. In 2012 the university created its Management Development Programme for Women Entrepreneurs and in 2019 increased the percentage of women admitted to the MBA by adding diversity points for female applicants.
