About University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) first opened in 1965. The city of Green Bay itself is the based in the east of Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan, and is known for its history of meatpacking and textile factories. Its NFL team the Green Bay Packers is one of the most successful in American football history.

Undergraduate academic study is divided between the four schools of Health, Education & Social Welfare, Business, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science & Technology. UWGB also offers eight graduate programmes, ranging from MS Applied Leadership to Data Science, which is one of the courses available online degrees through the Division of Outreach and Adult Access.

The Office of International Education facilitates all study abroad and international student exchange at UWGB. Semester opportunities are available in locations including and Denmark, the Netherlands, and Mexico, and a national exchange programme at institutions in Guam, Puerto Rico, and more.

UW’s Green Bay campus was founded with a focus on sustainability, and retains an ethos of conservation to this day. The Cofrin Memorial Arboretum is a 290 acre tract of land adjacent to the university’s academic buildings, and provides an array of Wisconsin’s natural ecology for research and study.

Athletics teams are known as the Phoenix, and compete in the NCAA Division I. There are seven men’s programmes and nine women’s, including Nordic skiing for both genders. Basketball is played at the 10,000 seater Resch Centre, and UWGB also has an educational partnership with the Green Bay Packers, with special lectures being taught at Lambeau Field.
