About Ramapo College of New Jersey

Ramapo College of New Jersey (RCNJ) is based in New Jersey and is considered a liberal arts and professional studies academic institution. Ramapo College is also a founding member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges – a national alliance of leading public liberal arts colleges.

Located near the Ramapo Mountains – a number of parks and forest – there are an abundance of activities for students to participate in such as hiking trails and spotting diverse species of wildlife. 

Ramapo College has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Regional Public Universities in the north. 

There are approximately 40 different undergraduate programmes on offer as well as graduate degrees in nursing, business, liberal studies, sustainability studies and education.

The programmes are offered within five separate schools which are: Anisfield School of Business (ASB), Contemporary Arts (CA), Salameno School of Humanities and Global Studies (SSHGS), School of Social Science and Human Services (SSHS), and School of Theoretical and Applied Science (TAS). 

Study abroad opportunities are an integral part of the undergraduate experience at Ramapo College. It is available to students across many different subjects, and it can enhance their student experience.

On campus, there is an impressive performance visual arts centre – The Angelica and Russ Berrie Centre – which is devoted to fine arts, computer art, photography, theatre, dance and music. There are also a number of art galleries that work alongside the School of Contemporary Arts and display a wide variety of art including faculty artwork and international collections.

Athletic teams at Ramapo College are known as the Ramapo Rowdies and they compete as a member of Division III. Sports teams include include baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

Notable alumni include Grace Helbig, an American comedian, YouTube personality, actress, producer and author, Patrick Stickles, an American musician and the lead singer, frontman, and songwriter of Titus Andronicus, and Tim Eustace, an American chiropractor and Democratic Party politician from New Jersey.
