About Greenville University

Greenville College was founded in 1892 by the Free Methodist Church in the town of Greenville, Illinois, a small town about 45 miles from the city of St. Louis. The college was established with the aim of educating young men and women and was reincorporated as an independent institution in 1893 and the first graduates completed their studies in 1898. Since that time Greenville has grown and broadened its academic offerings.

Today the college offers over 50 undergraduate majors split across 18 subject areas to students, as well as graduate and adult programs, while still seeking to retain its founding values. Faculty members are committed to their Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning are central to the aims of Greenville. Faculty members act as mentors and academic advisors to students as well as teachers.

The Greenville campus is a leafy space in the small town of Greenville covering a total of 200 acres. It includes the college library, fitness centre and bookstore as well as the academic and administrative buildings of the college. The campus is also home to a large proportion of Greenville's students who live on-site in halls of residence.

Students are expected to adhere to a strict code of practice.. They are also expected to honour the Christian values of the university by attending religious services or performing volunteer work.

Greenville is home to students from many different countries and encourages international applications; there is also an opportunity for domestic students to study abroad while completing their degrees.
