John Rawlinson of the Royal Society says Alan Hirsch was not cited in ISI's Science Citation Index "because he publishes in biochemical journals and ISI doesn't recognise those" ("Citation circus ignites explosion", The THES, August 7).
A. Hirsch has more than 1,250 citations in the index in the past ten years, and Journal of Biochemistry is ISI's most cited science journal, as the list in the article makes clear.
