Anthea Rose says the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is "the only professional accountancy body that has its own technician qualification" (Letters, THES, December 3). The Association of Accounting Technicians provides not only a technician qualification but is also a membership body with 100,000 members and students. Our qualification is recognised by all UK professional accountancy bodies for progression purposes.
The AAT has a highly regarded competence-based education and training programme. The ACCA still relies on unseen written exams.
