The final dismissal of Suzi Clark is an outrage. Strangely I see no articles in the Daily Mail or the Daily Telegraph complaining that academic freedom is under threat, and just as strange is her sacking despite a new Labour government committed to fairness at work. It is time surely for David Blunkett to intervene and remind the university that sacking people for expressing opinions is not what is expected in what should be a diverse and pluralistic society.
