I see you have decided once again to entertain readers with the "amusing" exam howlers certain academics seem to regard it as their duty to collect. However, given that many errors are due to the same academics' insistence that the true test of intellectual rigour is to write an essay on the most complex subject in the shortest time possible, am I alone in detecting a senior common room conspiracy to organise exams in such a way as to produce the maximum number of howlers? Or is this just summer madness?
