Universities have been invited to bid for extra funds for special library collections and the Computers in Teaching Initiative. The four national funding bodies plan to add two new CTI centres to the existing 21, while English and Northern Irish universities can bid for the Pounds 9 million allotted for specialised research collections in the humanities.
