The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), the longest established university in Wales, holds the third-oldest Royal Charter in England and Wales, after Oxford and Cambridge.
This modern, dynamic, creative, innovative and inspirational university, with a long tradition of teaching and research, was rated first in the UK for courses and lecturers by students in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019 and 2020. UWTSD is also known for its employment-focused programmes and friendly learning communities.
Each of UWTSD’s three main campuses in south-west Wales has its own specialisms. In Swansea, these are art, business, education, health and sciences, computing, engineering, environment and psychology. In Carmarthen they are performing arts, sport and health, business, social sciences and applied psychology. And in Lampeter it is the humanities.
UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art is known as the best in Wales for its innovative creative disciplines. It provides an art school experience in a contemporary university setting with state-of-the-art technology. Ranked first in Wales for art and design and eighth in the UK overall, according to the Complete University Guide 2021, Swansea College of Art delivers an excellent university experience to its students. The university is also internationally renowned for its architectural and stained glass courses, which offer students exciting career opportunities.
