As part of the celebrations to mark 75 years of impact, Cranfield University is launching a global academic talent search to recruit some of the world’s best up and coming research staff to its newly launched 75th Anniversary Research Fellowship scheme.

The Cranfield 75th Anniversary Research Fellowship scheme is looking to provide a platform for some of the world’s most gifted researchers to make breakthroughs in their fields and provide a springboard for their future academic career. It will give talented early career researchers an opportunity to conduct innovative research working with some of the most respected and impactful research centres globally.

Professor Tom Stephenson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Cranfield University, said “we want to give some of the world’s most talented up and coming researchers the space and opportunity to thrive. These fellowships will allow the successful applicants to conduct their own transformative research without the pressures that many academics face.”

Successful applicants will receive three years of funding to conduct their own independent research and will be given access to bespoke, enhanced training and career development support.

We believe the breadth of opportunity offered by the fellowship is unique – research proposals can be aligned with any of Cranfield’s major themes:

• Aerospace
• Defence and Security
• Energy and Power
• Environment and Agrifood
• Management
• Manufacturing
• Transport Systems
• Water

In addition, applicants have three routes to access one of our fellowships:

• Apply for full funding through the Cranfield 75th Anniversary Fellowship scheme
• Apply having already identified an industrial sponsor to part fund your research
• Apply having identified part fellowship funding from a public sector fellowship scheme

The scheme will start in September 2020, to mark the University’s upcoming 75^th anniversary, and will run until 2027, supporting up to 30 early career fellowship positions at Cranfield.
