Likening a DJ to a cinema projectionist is bizarre (Books, THES , November 2).
If two films projected onto the same screen managed to be both coherent and different from their individual parts, it might handsomely reflect a DJ's talent.
However, the assertion that anyone with a "modicum of technical understanding" can become a DJ is akin to saying that no skills are needed to be a "freelance journalist specialising in popular culture".
